$$ KA-ching $$

Well, poetic I'm not and this is not a good day for poetry anyway.  Everything has decided to go out at once and this has been one expensive day.  I've dealt with 1) a plumber, 2) our car mechanic, and 3) the heating and a/c guys today.  Total spent?  About $550.  I'm not thinking about the bills that came in the post today from our little trip to Urgent Care last month (which seem to have been billed as ER visits?).  I still need to have a heart-to-heart with the Evil Insurance Company over that.  Oh, I'm so looking forward to it.

At the end of the day, we have a toilet which works (pencil surgically removed from its innards), a car which I hope will be working tomorrow or we'll be walking the 2 miles to our enrichment classes tomorrow, and a hot house.  The a/c kinda faded out yesterday and we spent a rather miserable evening before it cooled off enough for us to sleep.  Some part of it (starts with a "c", but I don't remember what it is; it starts the compressor) is toast and the part takes a couple of days to come in.

Remarkably, I'm calm about the whole thing.  I don't know why but I'm not going to question a blessing.  I mean, how can you complain about indoor plumbing, a second car, and air conditioning not working?  They're all blessings to begin with and we're blessed not to have a health issue which gets worse in the heat.  We'll probably spend the next two days in the pool or in the basement and be even more thankful for our a/c when it comes back.  It's expensive but then, most luxuries are.

Head's up about tomorrow's Wordless Wednesday.  I'm going to try to take a picture of Keziah's poor face (if my camera-yet another luxury-works right for a change).  She got run over by the neighbor child when she walked in front of his swing (her fault, not his) and got a bit of a road rash as well as a swollen face.  I'm anticipating a black eye before it's all over.  So when you see a picture that looks like Zidy went 7 rounds with something, she did.  Our rock-hard, drought-baked ground.

Needless to say, I won't be rushing her to Urgent Care.

How I hate money woes!

Would it make you feel better if I told you that in the last week we bought a new wall oven, new dishwasher and 500 square feet of flooring? Oh, right, I didn't mention the new kitchen sink, faucet and 5 gallons of pain. And I still haven't paid for the cabinets or countertops yet. It's overwhelming to think of.

After spending all that money, the orthodontist told us that Middle Son needed oral surgery and Oldest Son needs to see a cosmetic dentist to repair congenitally misformed teeth.

*big sigh* We need to win the lottery. Too bad we don't play.

No air??? I feel for you. Too bad you don't live a little closer because we have a great a/c guy. Do you know how many times I said something about wishing we had a basement a few months ago when our a/c went out??? About a million. Leigh
