There's no business like snow business...

Ha...that's been going through my head all day.

I messed up yesterday and thought it was the 7th. Today is actually the 4th anniversary of Mother's passing. Thank you so much for your kind words. I keep thinking how much Mom would have loved the digital revolution. When the girls were young she demanded a new roll of pictures every month. Being the good (i.e., compliant) daughter that I was, I sent them. She's be digging the digital photos of everything, sent over e-mail rather than mailed as well as talking to people over Skype. Ah well.

We finally got our first real winter storm today, blizzard warnings and all. How did I celebrate this momentous event? I took Sarah and David with me to the library and to Sam's Club. Because if you're going to be snowed in, you need knitting books, videos, and butter. Yeah.

The trip back was considerably more hazardous than the trip out there. Fortunately I didn't spin out anywhere but my brakes were a mess. And I made it up the giant hill near our house without problem. Of course, the whole situation was so nerve-wracking that I had to go to bed once we got home. Did I mention that I am sick? Yeah. At least a sinus infection if not worse. You have to have a fever to have the flu, right?

So I made us a giant vat of shrimp & chicken creole for dinner so as to get that spice thing going and open up our sinuses. It sort of worked. I was looking around for some snow pics. There are a few at Cincinnati.com but I don't think they are of the most recent snow storm. Perhaps tomorrow I can take some of my own. Can you tell that I'm all mush-headed from the cold bug?

Now it's definitely time for bed.

I TRY to watch the weather and make those trips before it actually starts snowing. But, I have been caught off gaurd this year because the weatherman has been so bad at predicting snow that I am starting to ignore him. I got caught last week too. It is always worse at this time of year when the temps are closer to 30... because the snow is wet, icy and slippery. I am passed done with winter. We got 3" on Sunday ~ most of the heavy snow was south of us.

I hope you are feeling better soon!
