Earthquake!

We felt an earthquake here early this morning. Its epicenter was near where my sil's parents live in Illinois. To be more accurate, I heard it and it woke me up. I don't remember feeling anything. But obviously, with its weak magnitude and distance, it wasn't terribly disruptive to us. I thought it was just a strong wind outside.

Later today I hope to finally put up a Thursday Thirteen, this one about my hubby's endoscopy procedure yesterday. But, for now, I have to go pick up our quarter of a beef at the butcher's. The fun never ends!

I read about that in the news, scary. I remember there being one down in Illinois when I was a teenager too.
Hope all are safe.

I've started a new homeschool meme for Mondays and I thought that you might be interested. If you want to participate, just write a post about a highlight from your past week of home learning. Then, come to my blog and sign Mr. Linky.

The Nisqually Earthquake shook Marissa's 9th birthday. She wasn't afraid at all... except she did worry that I wouldn't be able to leave work to bring cupcakes to her school. Luckily my mom was up for a visit. She was there to join me as I finalized Marissa's adoption on March 3 ~

My mom was in the car at the time and didn't feel a thing. I was in the ICU we had big glass sliding doors so that we could see into the rooms. I was standing in the middle of the room. One of my coworkers told me I was supposed to be standing in a doorway. I let her know that standing under a sheet of glass was not going to make me feel safer. I was surprised by how long the earth rocked after the quake. I felt like I was on a boat.
