I will not survive this day

Another day of snow, but mainly ice.  And I am stuck in the house with the children.  Yes, I'm afraid that I said, "stuck".  Here's a sample of what has already happened, an excerpt from an e-mail I just sent to Friend Gina.

The twins just came downstairs.  Remember how I said that David is being a pain in the rear?  Keziah comes downstairs and says, “Mom.  We need to get a new toaster oven.”  I looked at her and saw that she was holding the door behind her back.  I asked her what happened and she said that David broke it off.  Well, it’s 20 years old and it’s come off before so I wasn’t all that worried about it.  She goes on to tell me a story about how she was trying to get something out of the oven and burned herself and David did too, then he just pulled the door off.  I’m thinking, “Ok, finish the e-mail and go upstairs and figure out what happened.”  Then David appears.  David, who is supposed to be in his room because he was flicking my bedroom lights on and off and slamming my door shut repeatedly.  He said, “Mom, I couldn’t get Spider Man out of the toaster oven.”

“You put Spider Man in the toaster oven?”

“Yeah, and now he’s all gooey and his hand came off.”

It’s 9:15 AM.  It’s 9:15 AM.

"Mother of 5" I have such admiration for you and your patience! :-) So Spiderman is toast is he? Ha ha! What happened to K & D burns - hope it wasn't that bad? And the oven - is it kaputt/a goner?

Ok, I almost spit out my diet coke reading this! Sorry to laugh at your pain... BUT... in the same amount of time, my son "david junior" pooped on the bathroom rug and then turned my pulled all his clothes and bedding into the center of his room to make a "nest".
Boys... can't live with 'em... can't understand 'em...

**spider man in the toaster oven... that's one for the memory book** chuckles evilly to self...

Snicker...

I cannot wait until winter is over. I mean I have always hated it, but having two young children stuck inside all winter with only their imaginations and nothing else to do is really, really annoying!
